As one of the biggest names in the electronics industry, Sony has once again bared its unbeatable ingenuity with the Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46XBR4 46-inch 1080p LCD HDTV. Have this unit in your home, and your viewing experience will never be the same again. As one of Sony’s latest additions to its High Definition TV family, the XBR KDL-46XBR4 has one of the clearest and best resolutions around. You can be sure that videos and graphics are more stunning than ever, and with equally-excellent sound quality to boot.

This Sony LCD TV retails at most electronics stores in the United States anywhere from $2,500 to $3,000. This keeper is an investment that you surely won’t regret. One of the keenest things about these LCD HDTV’s is that they can be placed virtually anywhere. You can put them on a table top with its included stand, or find a perfect spot on your wall to hang it. Either way, you can enjoy the great video quality and HD surround sound offered by this model.

Display.
Whether you like settling down for the evening news or a hardcore movie buff, you can enjoy all your favorite shows and movies on the 1920 x 1080 pixel, full 1080p native resolution LCD screen. What’s more, the Sony Bravia XBR KDL-46XBR4 operates on 10-bit display (with 10-bit processing), compared to most of it's competitors with 8-bit displays and has a 16:9 resolution with 18,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Images and graphics are more vibrant and seem to come alive with this system. You can watch more of the programs you love, and feel as if you’re there with the huge 46-inch screen.

This Sony HDTV supports 24 frames per second video, which is what it is originally filmed or recorded. This gives you the best possible reproduction of the original video.

If your living room or entertainment center has a specific color scheme, you can match the bezel color of your Sony Bravia, too. Imagine how cool your living room will look with the floating glass frame supporting this HDTV. Optional bezels are available in a variety of contemporary, décor matching colors for an additional $300 each.

Motionflow™ technology.

One drawback to LCD's is thier inability to respond to fast changing images, causing motion blur.  By operating at 120Hz, this LCD's video performance is significantly improved. Learn more about Motionflow at www.SonyStyle.com

HDTV Ratings and Reviews.

Home Theater magazine gives this Sony LCD TV high marks for impressive picture and sound sighting major improvements over the XBR2 series including better ability to handle fast-action video, and improvements in black level and shadow detail. Poor processing performance was noticed with 480i, but it did perform well with native 720p, 1080i, or 1080ps sources, which is what most of use anyway.

Cnet Reviews gives it an 8.3 out of 10. They agree that black levels are very good and the 120hz processing works to smooth judder. Off-angle viewing is good and the TV has solid connectivity. Cnet thought this model was a bit pricey, the menu system was a bit kludgey, and smooth motion was a bit unnatural and introduced some artifacts. despite this, the conclusion is very good:

The bottom line: Although not quite as impressive as the best plasmas, the 46-inch Sony KDL-46XBR4 outperforms any flat-panel LCD we've tested so far.
